What DLsite is
DLsite is a Japanese digital storefront for doujin works: material created and published by independent circles and individual creators rather than major publishers. It has operated since 1996 and today lists manga, games, voice/ASMR, CG collections and novels.
The important difference from a streaming or aggregator site: you buy a file, from the person who made it. A purchase sends money to the circle. That is the whole basis of the doujin economy.
What you can buy
| Category | What it is |
|---|---|
| Manga / Comics | Digital doujinshi, usually PDF or image sets |
| Voice / ASMR | Audio dramas and binaural recordings — one of the fastest-growing categories |
| Games | RPGs, visual novels, simulation; Windows-first, some browser or Android |
| CG collections | Illustration sets |
| Novels | Text works, often with illustrations |
Official translations
A growing share of works are released with publisher- or circle-approved translations into English, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Thai and others. These are not fan translations: they are sold on the same product page, by the same rights holder. Reading them is the way to support the creator directly.

Accounts and regions
DLsite serves customers outside Japan and offers its interface in 15 languages, including English, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Italian, Swedish and Arabic. You need an account to buy, and the site is age-restricted for adult categories.

What DLsite is not
It is not a subscription service, not a scanlation archive, and not a streaming platform. There is no “all you can read” tier — each work is purchased individually, and what you buy stays in your account library.
